NORC May Event
Thursday, May 28, 2009
It was another packed house at the Pontiac Country Club on May 28 as NORC welcomed Congressman Thaddeus McCotter and Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert Young as special guests. Republican activists came from many counties to hear these dynamic leaders.
Justice Young came through the front entrance and pronounced, "Hey, I'm looking for a few good Republicans." He proved how selfless he is by walking around the whole room greeting every guest by saying, "Hi. I'm Bob." Multiple attendees commented that they had no idea he was Justice Robert Young until he was introduced later.
In his dry, yet fantastic humor, Congressman McCotter took to the podium and announced that he wasn't going to give a speech that would put everyone to sleep. Instead he instantly opened the floor to questions, which led to an excellent question and answer session with the guests. If only Congress was filled with more people like Thaddeus McCotter.
Leaders like Justice Young and Congessman McCotter are exactly what the Republican Party needs more of. NORC is grateful to both men for taking time out of their schedules to be our special guests. NORC's leadership is committed to having top leaders such as these to the monthly meetings when they resume in the fall.
For more information contact NORC at 248.866.2562. The NORC regularly meets every fourth Thursday of the month with networking and refreshments beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the event starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Pontiac Country Club.
