NORC May Meeting
May 26, 2008

NORC officers and members proudly participated in the Waterford Memorial Day Parade on May 26. The parade on Dixie Highway saw its biggest participation ever and NORC unveiled its brand-new patriotic float. NORC's float has a United States flag on a 28 foot high pole. It also features the flags of the Marines, Navy, Army, and Air Force, in addition to the numerous United States flags aboard. The club's participants threw thousands of pieces of candy to the crowd and also passed out NORC business cards.

Upon the completion of the parade, many NORC members participated in a special ceremony to honor fallen veterans at the cemetery at Dixie Highway and Williams Lake Road. Participating in the festivities with the club was County Commissioner Tom Middleton.

Special recognition is owed to Dennis Pittman, Jim Thienel, and Cindy Holsworth for their countless hours and financial resources given to the completion of NORC's new patriotic parade float. NORC will be participating in Clarkston's Independence Day Parade so be sure to find out how to get involved.
