Join us at the Pontiac Country Club Thursday, March 25th at 6:30 p.m.
This is a free seminar and debate about the upcoming Michigan Constitutional Convention (the Con Con). Our two featured guests will each lay out the history, the process, and the ramifications of the ballot question that is put to Michigan voters every 16 years.
Speaking on behalf of the Con Con is Clarkston attorney and political activist who is often a guest on WJR, Henry Woloson. Henry’s website is energizemichigan.com.
Speaking against the Con Con is Dan Wholihan, founder and president of Republican Michigander Consulting, LLC. Dan has a law degree from Ave Maria School of Law and is the treasurer for the 8th District Republican Congressional Committee. Dan’s website is republicanmichigander.blogspot.com.
Meet Dave Robertson. Dave is a former State Representative with impeccable conservative credentials and is running for the State Senate seat that liberal Democrat, Deb Cherry, now holds.

This was a fun and educational evening featuring a frank discussion of how we assemble the most effective force possible to elect Republicans in 2010.
Leading this discussion was State Rep. Tom McMillin, who recently earned the title of most conservative lawmaker in Oakland County; State Rep. Justin Amash, who is arguably the most conservative lawmaker in the state and is also a candidate for the U.S House in the 3rd District;
and David Dudenhoefer, who is an experienced activist who serves on the Michigan Republican Party State Committee and is the interim State Coordinator for The Campaign for Liberty.
Our special guest for the evening was the former Governor of New Mexico and possible presidential candidate, Gary Johnson. Gov. Johnson is a fiscal conservative who cut taxes and the number of state employees each of the eight years he served. He built a multi-million dollar construction business from the ground up and is an outspoken advocate for physical fitness.
Gov. Johnson has competed in numerous triathlons and marathons and has reached the summit of the highest mountains on four different continents, including Mount Everest.

The event began at 6:30 pm and was at the Farmington Hills Fix Michigan Center located at 31440 Northwestern Hwy in Farmington Hills.

Many people joined NORC and many other Michigan groups, at the Pontiac Country Club, dedicated to liberty and learn about what we can do, as a state, to combat Washington's health care plan.
Here is a link to Senate Joint Resolution K, which would place before voters in the next general election a Constitutional amendment to recognize that “every person has a right to provide for his or her own health care,” and to prohibit any state law or rule that would directly or indirectly “compel any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system.
This Resolution is sponsored by Sen. Cameron Brown, Sen. Alan Cropsey and Sen. Wayne Kuipers.

Many of you have had expressed that it’s time the people are heard! We couldn’t have agreed more and that's why we dedicated this event to the members of NORC. The networking and refreshments began
at 6:30 p.m., event at 7 p.m.
The microphone was yours to talk about and express whatever thoughts, ideas, gripes or praise you wanted.
Format and rules
1. The mic is reserved for members in good standing (annual dues paid).
2. Speaking order is first come.
3. Time limit, including Q&A, is 4 minutes. If time permits, you can speak again.
4. No personal attacks. Votes or policy are fair game.
NORC October Event

NORC was happy to host State Representative Jim Marleau for an introduction and announcement about his run for the State Senate.
Our special guest was Congressional Candidate Paul Welday. Paul has a large and varied background of political experience, as well as business experience.
Paul has served as the Executive Director and Chairman of The Oakland County Republican Party, as well as Chief of Staff for Congressman Joe Knollenberg. Paul has a long history of campaign leadership, which includes serving as Campaign Manager for U.S. Senate Candidate Ronna Romney, U.S. Senator Robert Kaston, and the Jack Kemp for President Michigan Campaign.
Paul Welday is currently President of Renaissance Strategies, a leading public relations, business marketing, and public affairs consulting firm based in Oakland County, Michigan.
Our featured speaker was Jack McHugh.
Jack McHugh is the Mackinac Center for Public Policy’s Senior Legislative Analyst and Editor of MichiganVotes.org, a unique website that puts the activities of the Michigan Legislature at the citizens’ fingertips. Since the site was launched in 2001, McHugh has written or edited concise, plain-English descriptions of every bill, vote, and amendment in the State House and Senate, encompassing 12,000 bills, 10,000 roll call votes, 8,000 amendments, and 2,400 new laws. These can all be searched and sorted on the MichiganVotes.org website.
McHugh’s experience prior to joining the Center is wide and varied. He has been a floor trader in the Treasury bond and gold futures “pits” of the Chicago commodity exchanges, writer and real estate developer. He entered the Michigan political and public policy scene in 1994, spending six years as a legislative Chief of Staff in the House of Representatives.
McHugh has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in political science from Central Michigan University (where he completed two highly relevant research projects, “Analyzing Michigan House Voting Records Using the ‘MichiganVotes.org’ Database” and “Analysis of Appropriations to Michigan’s Public Four-Year Universities, with Recommendations”).

Just home from the Horn of Africa, U.S. Army Major Andrew “Rocky” Raczkowski gave us an exciting update about his past, present and future plans for serving this great country, including Candidate for the U.S House of Representatives. As a business owner, Rocky is Chairman and CEO of Star Tickets, a successful and growing Michigan corporation serving the ticketing and entertainment industry all across North America.
As a public servant, Rocky was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 1996 and won re-election in 1998. At that time, he was chosen by fellow legislators to serve as the Majority Floor Leader.
As a soldier, a business owner and former statesman, Rocky believes with all of his heart the United States of America is a country worth fighting for every single day.
Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop and Candidate for State Attorney General has been on the front lines battling this tax and spend liberal Governor for several years now, and he needs our help! Mike gave us the real story on how our state budget is being negotiated.
Under Bishop’s leadership, the Senate passed a budget that is public, balanced, and doesn’t raise taxes for the fiscal year that begins October1. If Granholm and Dillon have a better idea they need to put it on the table instead of the same games they played in 2007 that raised taxes on everyone and decimated our economy.
The Michigan House Republicans have had a balanced budget with no new fees or taxes on the table for over a month. The Michigan Senate has passed a balanced budget with no new taxes or fees.
